We are currently recruiting for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team at our Corporate branch in San Jose. The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for ensuring all incoming material is paid for in a timely manner. This includes maintaining an organized filing system, researching discrepancies and working with purchasing, warehouse and vendors.Must be able to process high invoice volume, meet deadlines and maintain organized workflow. The Accounts Payable Clerk should be an effective communicator and understand all receiving, purchasing and payable functions for problem solving, research and analysis. Additional duties may include backing up the cashier, and receptionist.
Essential Responsibilities & Duties:
- Process vendor invoices for payment. Put in order by date and then totals. Research any discrepancies, check for pricing, quantity and salesman errors, balance totals to journal, enter debits to vendors
- Post all vendor payables (as assigned).
- Freight Claims: Prepare negative PO’s for damaged material which pulls material out of damaged inventory and clears with check from freight line.
- Review all UPS and freight bills from truck lines for proper customer billing and payment
- Review for any open items via vendor statements requesting copies as needed, match to purchase order or deduct and request proof of delivery if needed.
- Backup for Accounts Payable team, Receptionist and Cashier.
Other Skills and Abilities Minimum: 2 years' accounts payable experience; 3-way matching. Detail oriented, 10-key proficient and computer literate. Strong communication and organizational skills. Team player.
